In this paper, I insist that we should teach region languages in schools. 'Region Languages' indicate not languages which have used traditionally in a region, but languages that is communicated in daily life by the region community members, in present. To teach region languages, we should include some contents in the syllabus; to make a student understand his region language, to increase a student's capability of communication by his region language, and to cultivate desirable attitude to his region language. Teaching region language is important to students. Nevertheless, it is more important that it should be taught after the standard language. 【Key words】 region language, teaching region language, standard language, dialect, korean language education.
