Abstract
This study is to look into the possibilities of popular culture as a part of Korean Language Education. To achieve this purpose research questions are specified as follows : 1. Why does Korean Language Education intend to accept popular culture in spite of the negative side of popular culture? 2. How has Korean Language Education been approached popular culture within a curriculum or recent studies? 3. How should Korean Language Education approach popular culture? Popular culture is a ruling life mode which is invulnerable. Adolescents are getting indulged in popular culture in a great rapidity, so Korean Language Education begins to consider the significance of popular culture. The approach to popular culture in Korean Language Education has been focused on the mass media and text of popular culture. The adaptation process of popular culture and consequences has been ignored. Adolescents think, feel and reveal ideas on their society by reaching popular culture, then own language and culture are weaved by consuming massively produced text. This reproductive adaptation is the core of popular culture. So, Korean Language Education should stress the acceptance of popular culture.
