Abstract
Kwon, Soon-hee The direction of positive expression education was discussed by analyzing slogans which could be easily catched in daily life. A slogan is a memorable brief motto or phrase used for expression of an opinion or contention by a social group. Slogan users sometimes use stimulating and extreme expressions for producing deep impressions to human recognition. For the desirable direction of expression education, positive expressions and negative expressions should be comparatively discussed. Positive expressions are correlated with physical and mental health and they are also desirable for ethics of language utilization. Through this study, a direction of expression education bringing about emotion, sensation, and life was suggested by discussing expression aspects for positive expression. Slogans were analyzed in the three directions of literacy, text level, sociocultural environmental level, and human being level. Slogans expressed on placards from December, 2005 to June, 2008 in Jeonju province were analyzed. The necessity of positive expression of slogans and a desirable direction of expression education were studied by analyzing aspects of differently expressing slogans according to occupational characteristics in relation with ideology and social attitude.
