Abstract
Moon, Sun- hee & Kim, Eun- joo & Lee, Sam - hyung Composition is a meaing-making process and it can be explained with many related theories: formalism composition, constructivism composition, social constructivism, dialogism composition, etc. Among them, dialogism has been given relatively more weight. Yet, it has been practiced through case studies and is not being studied theoretically much in Korea. This thesis is aimed at theoretical exploration of dialogism from a New Rhetoric perspective; equal weight is shared between the writer and the reader in terms of communication; meaning is constructed via dialectic and dialogic processes. Through this thesis, dialogism composition may be given a chance to be explained in a new light. k e y w o rd s Dialogism, Dialogue, New rhetoric, Argument, Composition Education, Writer-reader, Speaker-listener, Asserter-responser, Interaction, Meaning-makingprocess, Elements of meaning-making, Test-contest-create, Clarification-requesting reasoncontradiction 387
