Abstract

This study aims at developing systematic ways of the qualitative re- search to scrutinize times and places where Korean language education occurs. Based on the Riessman’s approach of narrative analysis, a various typologic ways of narrative analysis were introduced as follows: 1) The- matic analysis; 2) Systematic analysis; 3) Interactive analysis and others. The interactive analysis of narratives was demonstrated by using an ex- ample of data systematically analyzed in a previous research. As a result, it reveal that the systematic analysis of narratives or narra- tive analysis allows in-depth inquiry to see how discourses of significant others are transacted and negotiated in the sociocultural process of nar- rative construction as a student’s literacy practices as well as identity con- struction.
