Abstract
Chun Youngju This study examined the semantic aspects of disciplinary vocabulary in social studies using word embedding and network analysis. The results indicate that disciplinary vocabulary evolves in function and meaning-making within subject knowledge system and context. Learning involves discovering and reconstructing meanings shaped by disciplinary vocabulary. This study confirmed that vocabulary development through learning is fundamentally the development of meaning, emphasizing that vocabulary education should be approached as a process of growth and development rather than as a result-centered approach.
