Abstract
This study treats the textual variation of Comics, which is recently one of the active media in Korean education. The textual variation means to change the form of an original text in order to conform another usage or situation. The subject of this study is the Comics, "Princess Anna", originated from literature work, novel "Princess Anna", and I am trying to find the strategies of the Comics media in the Korean education through consideration of the intertextuality. The novel, as a written language and the Comics, as a combination of letters and drawings are completely different genres, so they have the different inner rules and structures. Therefore, they should be considered and treated in the discussion of Korean education as two different genres. Instead of the specific and detailed discussions, I am trying to study in the Korean educational position about the intertextuality of the two texts as a visual printed media. In this study I am comparing the language of a novel with the imaginary method of a cartoon and trying to decode the codes of the characters. However the study of the textual variation of a cartoon is only beginning. I hope that the more serious and earnest discussion should go on.
