There are some reading instruction theory which is explanation for teaching-learning of reading comprehension. Those reading instruction theory are affected of reading theory which is research for interpretation of reading act. A point of view teaching reading is conducted by selected perspective of reading instruction theory. This paper investigates reading instruction approaches that are applied teaching reading all the while. In this paper divided reading instruction approaches into four forms: text based approach, reader based approach, social interaction based approach and culture based approach. Those each approach is make up by influential factor of text understanding. The reading teacher selects the content and the method from one or several approaches of reading instruction theory to instruct students reading comprehension. In the same manner way the teaching reading for the future would be selected the content and the method in several perspective of reading instruction theory. So, the task of reading instruction theory is seek after learning factor and teaching method on social interaction and culture based text understanding.
