The Denotation of Literature Education and the Possibility of TV Entertainment Program

Abstract
This essay aims to inquiry the significance of television literacy centering around the language of entertainment program. For this, this essay demonstrate the possibility to develop television literacy in the area of language education on the base of conceptual field of 'literacy'. The conclusion drawn from a series of discussion is as follows: First, the education of media literacy must be directed to improve learner's sight to see and read the significance of entertainment program language. The traditional approach to media language concentering on defensive strategy to minimize the evil influence and abnormal uses of language needs to be sublated. Second, the direction of improvement of media literacy can be on the ground of cultural significance of entertainment program language. Because entertainment program guide the entertainment of the other program. Third, it is necessary to grow learner's knowledge and sight to response aesthetically to language of entertainment program, as we approach traditional performance genre, Talchum and Pansori with aesthetic standard. Fourth, the audience of entertainment program is to understand the attribute of entertainment language. This is not pure, courteous, informal, and refined because this language aims to attack and satire the dominant language. Fifth, It is not necessary to the area of 'viewing' for media literacy education. The conception of 'reading' can be widened at the degree to cover the media literacy.
