Abstract
Ambiguity features early poetry of Yoeng-Rang, which is characterized by both polysemy and opaqueness of meaning. The latter dominates in his early works. The ambiguity appeared in two aspects, i.e. invention and expression. The ambiguity in the aspect of invention results from the inherent ambiguity of contents that the poet wants to convey. Although Yoeng-Rang tended to develop his poem theme by utilizing the emotion mediated and evoked by an object, such a connection between the object and emotion is not found in his poems. These features found in his poetry are presented by repetitive usage of the words indicating emotion. The ambiguity in the aspect of expression comes from a process of sacrificing the degree of clarity of meaning to enrich rhyme. He intentionally shortened and refined words for creation of a melodical sound. The fundamental cause of the ambiguity can be ascribed to his way of poetry writing. The absence of object-relation results from intentional self-alienation from the object and the reality. The sacrifice of the degree of clarity of meaning for rhyme is closely related to his viewpoint of poem. He regarded poetry as an embodiment of beauty. The way of his invention can be a guide for students who want to write a poem and his way of expression can be a model out of various viewpoints of beauty for the education of poetry writing. 【key words】ambiguity, principle of poetry writing, education of poetry writing
