The purpose of this study is to examine the concept of literacy as the important object of Korean education, to propose the new planning for educatio of classical literacy. In the Middle ages, the literacy existed as a phenomenon, not a concept. So the literacy of the middle ages were ignored in the Modern times. But the literacy of the middle ages charterized by classical literacy. The claasical literacy was defined as the ability to read and write the classics. The essence of the classical literacy was to read the contempory period through the classica, to practice the problem of the contempory period. This study is to propose the classical literacy as the ability of comprehension and expression the text and context of the classics, to take the exemple, the writer's correspondence to the classics shown in the essay after reading ≪삼국유사≫.
