Abstract
Lee, Soo-jin The performance assessment in korean language education has many problems because it is distorted in implementation processes. The performance assessment's processes are like this:first, cognition of the aim and direction, second, establishment of plan, third, practice and recording of result, fourth, analysis of result and application. The implementation factors are divided into people factor and system factor. The problems of each processes are separation of theory and practice, dependence on document, distrust about teachers and lack of feedback system. I suggested four methods as performance assessment's improvements. First, we need to promote validity and reliability. Second, we can develop the lists of necessary language activities for integration-based approach. Third, we need to focus teacher's specialism about language ability's observaion and recording. Fourth, performance assessment need to make reciprocal relationship with national assessment.
