A Study on the Pedagogical Content Knowledge in the Korean Education

Abstract
This study discussed the pedagogical content knowledge in the Korean education. The concept, the properties, the applicative conditions and the example case of PCK in the elementary Korean education is discussed and the efficiency of PCK in Korean education is maintained. The example case in the elementary Korean education described the process of development and application, and accounted the efficiency of PCK. PCK is a personal knowledge domain featuring each teacher’s unique professionalism and synthetic in that it builds up separate knowledge domains into a connected whole. It is the knowledge resulting from the teacher’s cognitive process of transformation and qualitatively different from each type of knowledge perse. This Introduction of PCK in Korean education is hoped to the effectiveness on the Korean teaching and learning, teacher’s professional development and the teacher evaluation.
