Aspects of the Change in College Writer’s Performance of Discourse Synthesis through Task Representation Instruction

Abstract
Lee, Yun-bin This study aims at specific and tangible determination of the aspects of the change in writer’s performance of discourse synthesis after task representation instruction. This study analyzed immediate recall proto- cols of university freshmen writers and formal and content qualifications of discourse synthesis text by them, and proposed the result by groups of writers. First, the result of precedent study suggesting that performance of writers changes considerably just by a temporarily task representation instruction was verified. Second, it was newly proved through this study that motive and aspects of change in performance of writers vary greatly when the change in performance of writers was studied through more practical data analysis. Subordinate group mutually distinguished reveal- ing motive and aspects of change existed within group of nontransformer / partial transformer, type transformer, intender treated as a single group in precedent study. This study revealed characteristic of writers respond- ing in a different way to task representation instruction by studying change aspect of revised plan and text quality of these groups.
