Kim, Jung-woo The purpose of this study is to analyse the changes of communica- tion ways in the podcast programs and cyber communities for lieterature and to seek the desirable direction of literary education in the smart edu- caiotn age. Oral literature had been produced and received by the facial rela- tionships over thousands of years, but the ways have changed to non facial relationships as printing technology improved. Recently, as smart devices spread, authors and readers have experienced semi-facial rela- tionship through the process of literature produce and receive on the ‘podcast’. We can see a mediator and implied reader in a host of podcast, and occasionally authors can comprehend the implied meaning that they don’t know fully about their works. Literary community ‘Geulteen’ is typical community in cyber space. Participants in Geulteen have study and share knowledge about literature on their own initiative with interaction. These communities shoud be en- couraged in the smart education age, but it is the responsibility of users to prevent good participants from being driven out by bad ones. Digital textbooks are very important for successful achievement in the smart education age, but there should not be too much expectations. Digital textbooks for literary education need to have hypertext forms and intertextual activities, for example, podcasting by oneself, developing more specialized SNS, and organazing community to read and write liter- ary works.
