On the Philosophy and Policy of Korean Language Education

Abstract
This thesis aims to survey aspects of policy making of national curriculum of korean and to suggest the ways for enhancing its rationality. Time and reason in revising national curriculum of korean have been determined by government and curriculum developers have justified ex post. And curriculum guideline ('chong-lon') has restricted korean curriculum by controling document format. It is needed to construct the system to enhance the rationality of the korean curriculum as a policy document. First, korean education community should develop internal logic of korean curriculum revision independently. Second, korean curriculum developers should recognize theirselves as policy actors. Third, evaluation of curriculum implementation should be emphasized during revising curriculum. Finally, it is needed to communicate with curriculum guideline or general curriculum researcher and diverse members of society.
