Jung Eunjin This study explored the possibility of a linguistic life history ap- proach to vocabulary history education. It presented the methods and contents of linguistic life history education, focusing on vocabulary relat- ed to traditional life. Traditional life vocabulary is closely related to human life. Our daily language expressions such as metaphors and idioms reflect this. Although the traditional way of life has disappeared, the vocabulary re- mains in our language life in various forms and retains vitality. The historical approach to traditional cultural vocabulary teaches to- day’s learners the close and dynamic relationship between language and life. It provides an opportunity to realize the value of traditions and cul- tures.
