Abstract
This study aims to examine the educational direction of the ‘Literature’ section in the 7th National Korean Language Curriculum, focusing on the ‘methods of literature education.’ The 7th curriculum aims to foster the ability to receive and produce literature, which is a very important change in terms of human education through literature. However, it is often pointed out that this goal is not being properly implemented in the current field of literature education. Therefore, this study seeks the direction for literature education to proceed, based on an analysis of the ‘Literature’ section of the 7th National Korean Language Curriculum. First, it defines the essence of literature education as ‘literary experience’ and proposes ‘learner-centered literature education’ as a method to realize it. Furthermore, to improve the quality of literature education, it specifies teaching-learning methods that can activate ‘literary interaction.’ These discussions can be used as basic data for improving literature education in the future.
