The study of the plural texts reading approach

Abstract
The reader's comprehension of text is based on intertextuality. Reading is the process of connecting several texts that are related in meaning. In this view, the plural texts reading method is appeared. The plural texts reading approach is subdivided into three ways. The first way is syntopical reading. It is theme-centered reading method of several texts. The second way is multiple texts reading. The multiple texts reading is reading, in which several texts influence each other. The third way is hypertext reading. In it, readers read hypertexts in the internet. Those reading ways have common aspect which is reading plural texts based on intertextuality, and different aspect on selection of texts, reading process, and product of reading. To teach reading the plural text, reading approach should be used. The student constructs meaning in reading interrelated various texts. Therefore, reading education should accept the plural text reading approach. Also, reading teacher should study the method of arrangement of plural texts, the procedure of reading plural texts, and result of student's understanding about plural texts. In a word, a concrete plural text reading method should be studied for teaching reading. 【key words】 plural texts, syntopical reading, multiple texts reading, hypertext reading, the plural texts reading method.
