Abstract
The purpose of this study is to critically analyze the revised curriculum for Koran language art and to grope for integrated approach methods based on the contents of reading and writing and those of each grade textbooks. The point of the revised curriculum for Korean language art is to emphasize on “the text and the practice”. It means that the individual and social context is added to the contents of a textbook, which is to emphasize on all the process of the practical reading and writing function. It can be an educational intention in that their own daily life will be reflected in their reading and writing. I expect that the type of text, the level and scope of texts in the revised curriculum proposes must be useful to improve the development of teaching materials and syllabus planning. The various types of text from the revised curriculum are classified by each purpose of speech act. Therefore, I propose that the text should be rearranged to clarify specific criteria and priority appropriate for each grade and type. I understand reading and writing as the process of composing meaning and suggest the effective practice of the revised curriculum by designing integrative class which connects texts with the process of thinking. Through this process, I will grope for the integrated method for both areas,-reading and writing-in the development of text and the process of teaching and learning.
