A Critical Review of Development & Research Process in 2009 Revised Korean Subject Curriculum

Abstract
The curriculum is the beginning of subject. Also is a terminated point of it. However the curriculum of Korea is not like that. The curriculum is reorganized after 2 years. For fairness and rationality, I think that Korean language education related-academic society is responsible for the Korean curriculum development. This writing will review a development process of 2009 Revised Korean Subject Curriculum. According to 'elective restructurization plan, high school elective course name was 'Korean language I(국어Ⅰ)' and 'Korean language II(국어Ⅱ), 'Korean thinking and expression', 'Korean exploration and understanding of language', 'Korean culture and the Creative', 'The canon' . First of all, the research team of academic society union processed intensively the discussion of subject name and accomplishing standard of 'Korean language I, Ⅱ' and 'character of The Canon'. Discussed, the names of subjects has been determined as 'Korean language Ⅰ / Korean languages Ⅱ / speech and writing / reading and grammar / literature / Canons and the liberal'And the research team decided the basic character of Korean I' with culture (the public) and Korean II with culture(specialty). Also, they decided the main accomplishing standard of reading, writing, speech listening, the grammar, the literature with core accomplishing standard of Korean I, II. They also changed the name of 'Canons' with the 'Canons and liberal arts.' And they decided this subject with intergrated understanding and expressive activities for students in five areas of Korean subjects. Although there was few variations in last review process by Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, such discussion result was became the core of 2009 Revised Korean Subject Curriculum.
