A Study about the Types and Factors of Lexical Assessment

Abstract
This thesis defines complex factors of lexical assessment because lexical competence is so delicate and complex. Assessing lexical competence is related to what is "knowing a word.". So the lexical assessment is started from the defining the factors of the lexical competence. That is what is knowing a word. In this study I suggest we have to assess not only the meaning and meaning relationship but also the grammatic knowledge and the other pragmatic and cognitive factors. And after that I review various language tests with Korean, Japanese and English. Almost test types are belong to the way of asking meaning. But now more various type was developed which ask the various factors of lexical competence.
