Critical Language Awareness and Korean Education

Abstract
This study investigates critical language awareness and present Korean Education with an intersecting overview. First the study creates a relationship between critical language awareness and Korean Education and discusses ‘what is critical language awareness’, ‘how we can connect this with Korean Education, and ‘why?’ Then, the issues of Korean Education that corresponds with the above basic essential points of critical language awareness are examined. The main inquiry has been conducted with the following three dimensions. First, at the dimension of value, educational objectivity of language and identification is studied; Second, at principle dimension, the appropriateness of principles; Third, at methodological dimension, accuracy of Critical Discourse Analysis and its application at the classroom environments. At the final stage of the study, educational implication of critical language awareness is dealt with. Therefore, the challenges of critical language awareness on Korean Education and the considerations over its limitations to be considered later are presented.
