Hong, Eun-Sil The purpose of this paper was to suggest strategies for realizing smart learning in teaching Korean as a foreign/second language. I redefined the terminology firstly. ‘SMART Education’ is a teaching and learning system pursuing values such as collaboration, autonomy and interactivity. Meanwhile, ‘smart learning’ is a type of learning using smart devices and infra. Next, I suggested three ways to adopt smart learning for teaching Korean: exploiting the existing devices and infra, developing new smart learning contents and modifying existing contents into smart learning contents. For the each way I showed practical options for teaching Korean classes. We lastly suggested the followings for the further studies; effects of smart learning in teaching Korean language, types of teaching-learning activity and principles of modifying various contents into smart learning contents.
