Abstract
Yang, Se - hui This study attempts to suggest how the particle ‘Ui’ can be educated as a discourse strategy in grammar education. An education value of ‘Ui’ may be understood by accessing to ‘Ui’ as a discourse strategy, rather than clarifying types of adnominal structure combined by ‘Ui’. Therefore, it is examined what kinds of functions are included in ‘Ui’, as a discourse strategy, by focalizing the fact that ‘Ui’ has a semantic function. A speaker wants to effectively communicate his/her intentions by focusing on precedent noun through use of the particle ‘Ui’. And He/She focalizes a case and expresses his/her view on it by intentionally placing a noun to be emphasized on the position of N1 and explicitly revealing ‘Ui’. In addition, He/She also objectifies the case by making the genitive combined with ‘Ui’ and keeps a psychological distance away from it. The learners recognize the use of ‘Ui’, and then they construct the knowledge of ‘Ui’ as discourse strategy by understanding a principle that the sematic function of ‘Ui’ in sentence works the strategic function in discourse.
