Abstract
Death is not the extremes of life. It is a different expression of life because the process of life and the process of death coincide. But we are afraid of death and distort the death. This leads to the distortion of life, so it is necessary for the death education to be appropriate regardless of time. I think that the need for today's youth, who have been put into excessive competition, is more urgent. The film "Christmas in August" has consistently been used as a textbook in relation to media education, but it is limited to the features related to the characteristics of the drama genre. Director Heo who directed this movie wanted to do “A story about people who started from the idea that death might be nothing more than a routine.” Like the director's intentions, The movie makes us think about death through a dying man. Death depicted in this movie is also a subject of fear, but it is only part of it. It is something that is not different from daily life, it is individual that no one can substitute, and it must be actively welcomed by oneself. All of us are not much different from the characters in this movie. Therefore, we must think, prepare, and learn about death at all times. In this sense, this movie is a good death education book that reminds the nature of life and death.
