Abstract
Jang, Bong Gee · Park, Sohee · Lee, Soonyoung · Kim, Joohwan The aim of the study was to translate and cross-validate the Korean version of the Self-Beliefs, Writing-Beliefs, and Attitude Survey (SWAS), which was originally developed by Wright et al. (2019). 308 Korean eighth graders participated in this study by responding to the translated sur- veys via Qualtrics. Confirmatory factor analysis revealed that the original four-factor model including attitudes, beliefs about writing, self-concept, and self-efficacy developed for American adolescents is applicable to Ko- rean adolescents as well. In addition, both the entire instrument and the subscales showed high internal consistency. Implications for classroom teachers and future researchers are discussed.
