Abstract
For assessment of affective domain in Korean language education, it is need to consider three prerequisites. First, affective domain's contents are basically multi-variable complexity. Second, we must assess the diverse features of affective characteristics. Third, we must assess affective characteristics depending on its levels. On the ground of these prerequisites, we examine the assessment method of affective domain in dividing into assessment aims, assessment contents, assessment method. When the assessment aims are established, we must include two educational functions(means and goals) of the affective characteristics. And the matrix of assessment contents should fundamentally form 'affective characteristics × assesment objects'. On the other hand, the activities of assessment should be done continually and synthetically. For collecting the data of assessment, we can use 'non-responsive expression, self report, observation, analyzing the students's products, investigation (questionnaire, interview), portfolio. As developing the assessment tools, we must keep the fixed procedure(selecting the affective characteristics and assessment objectives → sampling the behavior concerning objectives → establishing the assessment standards → deciding the method of collecting data → interpreting and using the collected data).
