Abstract
Current Korean language arts curriculum includes listening, speaking, reading, writing, the understanding of Korean language, and the study of literature. The new Korean language arts curriculum should be focused on the learning outcomes of Korean language arts. The outcomes must represent a strong consensus on the knowledge, strategies, and attitudes values and beliefs that all students should be able to master in the Korean language arts. Through the learning of the Korean language arts, students should be able to read and write a broad range of written texts and multimedia texts, and they should be able to speak well and listen carefully and effectively. Through the structured study of literature they should be able to recognize universal themes and to compare styles and ideas across authors and eras. The new Korean language arts curriculum should be focused on the modern literacy requirements and future literacy requirements. and also should emphasize the applications of Korean language arts learning, The applied learning skills such as solving problem, communicating, using ICT, working together greatly influence students success in school and in the society.
