Abstract
Improvement of the Curriculum of the Department of KLELee, Sam-hyungThe key word of globalization is competition. Therefore, Korean Language Education(KLE) has to cultivate students who has the competitive power in globalization.The goal of KLE is to developing students' ability of text comprehension and production. It has a relation with basic thinking components and complex thought. These thought are a source of competition in 21th century as information and globalization era. The critical and creative thinking, particulary, is required in text comprehension and production.But the real KLE has a long distance of the critical and creative thinking. We can seek the cause of a long distance at teacher's insufficiency of text comprehension and production, instructional method, diagnosis and management of student language ability. Then, these insufficiency origin is at the curriculum of teacher college.The general present curriculum of the department of KLE is combined with Korean language literature and Education. We must improve the curriculum of teacher college to the ability of text comprehension and production, and how to diagnose and manage student language ability.
