Literary Education and Lexical Education

Abstract
This paper focuses on the relation between lexical education and literary education. I elucidate the additional components for lexical competence in literary education; relation to fiction, artistry, context of communication and various theories of literature. I suggest that the ultimate objective of lexical education in literary education should be to make learners have the so-called ‘national language dictionary’ as the system of lexicon in the brain of them whose mother tongues are Korean, and the contents are preservation of native words, sharing experiences and emotions of community, creative using of words with consideration for the context.
