이 연구는 21세기 정보화 사회에서, 특히 매체 와 관련하여 국어 교 과서를 어떤 방향에서 개발해야 하는가에 대하여 논의하였다. 전세계 적으로 여러 매체는 물론 컴퓨터 통신이나 인터넷의 중요성이 강화되 는 이때, 국어교육이 어떤 변신을 해야 하는가에 대하여 논의하는 것 은 매우 중요하다. 이 연구에서는 정보화 시대 국어교육의 방향으로 두 가지를 제안하 였다. 그 하나는 매체언어의 의사소통 방식에 대한 교육 이며, 다른 하 나는 매체를 활용하는 교육 이다. 이러한 두 가지 방향을 국어 교과서 에 담아내는 방안에서는 매체에 따라 달라지는 다양한 의사소통 방식 을 제시하는 교과서 , 학습 원리 중심의 교과서, 다양한 활동 중심의 매체 활용 , 교과서에 제시되는 언어 활동 자료의 확대 등을 제안하였 다. 결론적으로, 이 연구에서는 성급하게 책 형태의 교과서를 부정할 것 이 아니라 매체 형태의 교과서와 공존할 필요가 있다고 제안하였다. 이 연구는 정보 사회에서의 매체 언어 교육에 대한 논의의 출발점이라 할 수 있다. 매체언어의 의사 소통 방식에 대한 교육 그리고 매체를 활용 하는 교육 을 위해 앞으로도 지속적인 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다. 41 < A b s trac t > Dev elopment Direction of Korean lang uag e tex t in the Inform ation A g e : Focus ing on 'the media ' Ch oi , M e e - S o ok T h is stu dy in v estig at ed h ow to dev elop th e K or ean lan gu ag e t ex t , especially w ith r eg ar d to th e 'm edia ' in th e 21th century , In form ation S ociety .
