Knowledge for the Teaching Reading

Abstract
The purpose of this article is to descript of knowledge-organization for teaching reading in Korean language(as a mother-tongue) Education. For this purpose, I defined a concept of knowledge fitted in reading teaching, abstracted necessary factors of reading, and surveyed and criticized tendencies of reading research. As a result of this study, I reached a conclusion as following. First, we should organize reading-knowledge centered in reader's psychological figure. Second, there is four factors in reader's psychological figure ; 1) reading skills, 2) knowledge of a symbol(language) structure and function, 3) knowledge of contexts, 4) attitude in reading. Third, reading skills being the key of teaching reading among these four factors are arranged as a list of reading tasks. The last, beyond researches concerned in limited site nowadays, we have to insight into the whole phenomenon of reading more deeply and widely.
