Abstract
The Purpose of this research is to examine the appropriateness and validity of ‘text’ as a educational content of Korean grammar teaching. Text is a important educational content of Korean grammar teaching. Furthermore, Text is a essential means of meta-checking and control. For these reasons, This question, “Is ‘text’ a appropriate and valid content of Korean grammar teaching?” is considered to be one of the most valuable question in designing and fulfilling Korean grammar teaching. With this view, I examine the term and meaning of text, and the background of accepting text in Korean grammar teaching. Text is from textlinguistics, but the concept of text has had a powerful effect on Korean Language Education. In Korean grammar teaching, text has been considered as a thing that accept without educational reconceptualization. For the good of the educational purpose, Text as a educational content of Korean grammar teaching has to be reconceptualized: (1) Character:‘text’ as a background or analytic unit(‘text’ is not a grammtical unit) (2) Perspective:the reinforcement of the fuctional·societal perspective (3) Focus:the actualization of cubic-multi level in Korean language awareness
