이 연구는 음성 언어를 사용하던 시기에서 문자 언어를 사용하는 시 기로 전환하면서 나타났던 여러 가지 변화, 즉 인간의 사고 방식의 변화 와 인쇄 매체의 특징에서 비롯된 문자 언어 표현 방식에 대해 서술하고, 현재 전자 매체의 대중화 속에서 다양해지고 있는 언어 사용 방식의 복 잡한 양상에 주목하여 국어 교육 내용의 자원으로 활용하고자 하는 제 안을 하고 있다. 음성 언어와 인간의 발성 기관이 의사소통 수단의 전부였던 구술문화 시대를 거쳐, 문자 언어와 인쇄 매체의 문자 문화 시기에 이르면 언어 표현도 다양해지고 인간의 사고력은 논리적이고 객관적이고 분석적인 성향을 보이게 되었다. 현재 멀티미디어 매체의 출현과 광범위한 활용 가능성을 미루어 볼 때, 인쇄 매체가 이룩했던 그러한 발전적 변화를 전 자 매체가 재현하는 시점에 와 있다고 할 수 있다. 발성 기관과 인쇄 매 체, 그리고 영상 매체와 PC 매체에 이르는 매체의 변화는 언어 사용자 로 하여금 매체의 특성에 부합하는 언어 표현 방식을 계발하도록 유도 해 왔다. 이제 좀더 개별화되고 그러면서도 대중화되고 정보화되는 사회에서 매체의 기능과 특성은 더욱 새로운 언어 표현을 창출하고, 인간의 사고 력을 새로운 방향으로 변모시킬 것이다. 따라서 국어과 교육은 그러한 현상을 연구하여 국어 학습 활동을 현대화하여야 할 것이다. 345 < A b s tra c t > Com m unic ation m e di a & L ang u ag e ex pre s s ion 's ch aract eris tic s P ark , S o oj ah T his article focu sed on the chracteristics of literary expression s, comparing to that of oral expression s.
