A Study on the Method Enhancing Imagination through the Novel and the Film

Abstract
The imagination has been considered as essentiality to the poets for a long time. Besides poem creation, the imagination strongly influences to the narrative creation. Also the imagination influences acceptance as well as creation. The thing which the imagination affects largely while reading literature shows clearly the imagination's effectiveness at literature education. Because enhancing the student's imagination is the basic element of literature class. In this study, I distinguish the writer's imagination and the reader's imagination. For this, I give an example the novel and the film. The novel and the film are the typical genre of the narrative. The similarity between the novel and the film is proved from the fact that many films are transformed from the novels. The Lee, Chang-dong's film, ‘Secret Shine’ is transformed from Lee, Chung-jun's novel ‘Bule-iyagi’. As the original and the adaptation is totally different, except the core of the narrative, the two works' differences are very big. The cause is that the variant imagination operates while creating the work. For promoting the student's imagination, recovering hidden story and composing next story are very useful. The two methods are very useful to enhancing the student's imagination.
